Ahh, Disney.
There is some real crap on tv, you know that? of course you do. but last night, I was watching bits of a movie on the disney channel that was so painfully bad i don't know why they made it.
[why was i watching it then? because allo allo had finished and i was waiting to watch the muppets, which is on at the immensely unsociable hour of 12 midnight. which is cruel.]
it was called 'the cheetah girls' and it was about these four girls who wanted to be popstars. I didn't watch most of it, but what i gathered was:

it was called 'the cheetah girls' and it was about these four girls who wanted to be popstars. I didn't watch most of it, but what i gathered was:
- they were going to enter in the school talent contest to show off their fab r'n'b stylings. [in the loosest sense of fab r'n'b stylings possible.]
- so was hot white boy, who wasn't hot. but then, he was meant to be 4 years younger than me. probably he was 26.
- somehow [i stopped watching] they got signed by a record producer, who wanted to make them cut a demo and make sure they lipsynced when live.
- "talk to tha hand, girlfriend" says uppity black leader of the band girl. "tha cheetah girls don't lipsync. show tha man how we get down with our bad selves, girls!"
- they lipsync to a corny pop song which sounds not unlike anything by nsync, except they are girls.
- mary stops watching.
- mary starts watching again an hour later. the record deal has fallen through and uppity black chick -whose name is Galleria, which is a cafe on the Vic uni campus - is in the school hall doing an Alicia Keys impression.
- hot white boy comes along and they have a meaningful moment.
- mary stops watching again.
- mary starts watching again. the cheetah girls are performing at the talent show showing off their incredibly ability to sing really loudly and digitally enhancedly without mikes. they are definitely not lipsyncing...very well.
- record producer is watching on tv and ruing his mistake at letting them get away
- the song ends, and hot white boy and Cafe on Campus have a pash. In front of the whole school and her mother.
- the cheetah girls do some girl power bonding, the sky's the limit here comes the future, yay.
- credits. thank god.
- and then it's the muppets! Yay!
