Oh for fuck's sake.
I've just been reading a forum primarily made up of American former teenyboppers who are now at an age where they can vote but not spell. It disturbs me, it really does.
The post I've been reading is about who they're going to vote for come Tuesday, and while both sides (sometimes) present good arguments, I still cannot see why anybody would vote for Bush. During his term he's done so many things to not only fuck up his supposedly "Land of the Free" but also the world. [I would list examples, but that would involve research and I am lazy.] Apparently his administration has taken the surplus that Clinton and his merry band left behind and spent it all, so now America's in debt. [Of course, I may be lying through my teeth, but again, research. Lazy. Am not really making a good argument for myself, am I?] The welfare system and such is also apparently fucked, but I think it always was. It hasn't been fixed, though.
The point that really pisses me off though is the whole Iraq situation. Somebody has been very clever in creating an almost fool-proof situation where even though a country was invaded on dodgy (one might say fabricated) evidence and a war ensued that was only meant to take a few days but has turned into one rather large fucky complication in which people are still being killed, the President can still come up smelling of roses because he can now claim to be a "War-time President" and present evidence of taking decisive action (even though it was illegal), therefore giving the appearance of somebody in which to trust one's security. It doesn't help that Kerry looks incredibly indecisive. Why oh why couldn't the Democrats have picked a better candidate?
It really frustrates me that this election is going to affect much of the world, yet in the end it will come down to only a few people making the choice. Democracy in America sucks. What is the point of even voting when you're only going to be undermined by the Electoral College, which in turn could be undermined by the courts?
Then again, anybody who believes that Kerry winning will signal the end of the world should probably not be allowed near another person, let alone vote.
If anybody actually reads this and are eligible to vote tomorrow, please remember that while homeland security is an important issue, the rest of the world would like to be assured of safety from any more illegal wars. It isn't just about America. That's the responsibility that comes with being a superpower.

Am editing this because I forgot to mention the real reason I decided to post:
I'm really leanign towards Bush. And he went to Iraq because he was lead to believe that there were weapons of mass descrtuction. All I have to say what if he didn't go and they did have them, and used them agaisnt us. I feel safer knowing that they know for sure that there isn't anyhting there. Suddam WASN'T complying w/ the UN, and that is why Bush went in. Also like everyone keeps saying, Kerry is can't make a decison and stick to it. [sic]
So. Learn to fucking spell. And type.
You're right, Saddam wasn't cooperating with the request to present his WMD. Because he said he didn't have any. Plus, the UN went in and did some inspections for themselves, and didn't find any weapons. The US ignored the findings and went in anyway.
All I have to say is what if the police thought that you were harbouring guns to sell to gangs, and decided to raid your garage to make sure, but in order to do that they had to blow up your front door, everything went horribly wrong and they ended up killing yourself, your family and that random dude who always comes over for a feed? And in the end it turns out that you didn't have them, but the neighbourhood felt a lot safer knowing that the police had gone in there and made sure there was nothing there.
Nicely done.
And... what if a bunch of other nations who had been pissed off by America decided to band together and disarm the US. And in order to get in there they had to drop a few bombs on your city? Not so nice, is it?
Dumb fucking ignorant people.
Please note that I think Saddam Hussein is a dick as much as any patriotic mini-flag-waving niece or nephew of Uncle Sam, but this doesn't change the fact that Bush is also a bit of a penis.
